H1 subjects, in general, and H1 Math, in particular, give foundational knowledge and abilities, covering less content and, as a result, a lower burden. Meanwhile, H2 subjects encompass much more range with higher academic requirements and are intended to build knowledge and important concepts needed for further study in university, future work, and daily life.

For example, H1 Math covers Calculus, Statistics, and Graphs. H2 Math provides more in-depth instruction in calculus and statistical analysis, preparing students to perform complex computations or conduct acceptable research investigations for their university reports. Thus, for H2, you must know effective ways to study such significant content!

H1 and H2 mathematics examinations are also different in terms of content.

For H1 mathematics, students must complete a three-hour paper with statistics questions worth 60 points and pure mathematics questions worth 35 points.

H2 mathematics, on the other hand, will require pupils to complete two 3-hour papers. The first paper will test the student’s pure mathematics abilities, while the second paper will include questions on statistics and pure mathematics. Given this configuration, 70% of the tests will cover pure mathematics, while the remaining 30% will cover statistics.

As such, the amount of topics necessary for the H2 math exam is significantly higher, and applying these concepts is more complex.

Many students wonder whether completing their H1 and H2 mathematics is necessary for their future, especially if they have no intention of pursuing a course that does not require math.

H1 Math is essential for business, social science, and economics students since it requires them to understand and evaluate data. It would also prepare them to recognize trends in the data supplied to them and make decisions or draw conclusions that are relevant to the subject.

Nonetheless, if you are not interested in such courses and are not particularly strong in Math, you can take H1 Math instead.
